New AmeriCorps Staff Orientation
Apr 30 @ 9:00 am – May 1 @ 4:00 pm

Due to limited space, this orientation is being offered to 24 new AmeriCorps program staff members. A waiting list will be generated once the first 24 individuals register. Priority registration will go to Primary Fiscal and Program staff from programs in the AmeriCorps Texas portfolio. 

Current AmeriCorps State and National programs may register up to two appropriate staff members for this New AmeriCorps Staff Orientation. An "appropriate staff member" is someone who plays a significant role in your AmeriCorps program, such as your primary program and/or fiscal contact. Attendees will be responsible for sharing information and applying knowledge and updates received during the orientation with all staff at your organization. 

Note: If an organization has more than two new staff members, you may register the additional members, but please know that OneStar will first allow staff from other organizations to attend before the third or fourth member from your organization attends.  

The registration deadline is April 15th. Once registration closes on April 15th (or when we reach our maximum capacity), we will confirm your attendance. Additional information about NASO will be made available to confirmed attendees at that time.

 

Please use the "Travel to Commission Sponsored Meetings" line item to cover the cost of your attendance at this meeting.

By registering, you commit to attend both days of training in full. Due to limited space, if you are unable to make this commitment, please allow your spot to be taken by someone who can.

**Registrants who are "no-shows" for this event will be fined and receive an invoice to cover the cost of training materials, meals and supplies.**

 

**If fewer than 6 people register then this orientation may be cancelled**

  • Tuesday, April 30, 2019,  9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. CST
  • Wednesday, May 1, 2019,  9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. CST

National Hurricane Preparedness Week

National Hurricane Preparedness Week is held each year leading up to the beginning of Hurricane Season, which runs June 1 through the end of November.

September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance
Sep 11 all-day

The September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance is the culmination of efforts originally launched in 2002 by the 9/11 nonprofit MyGoodDeed with wide support by the 9/11 community and leading national service organizations. This effort first established the inspiring tradition of engaging in charitable service on 9/11 as an annual and forward-looking tribute to the 9/11 victims, survivors, and those who rose up in service in response to the attacks.
