Texas Strong Summit | From Preparedness to Recovery: The Path Forward for Texas

Hosted by OneStar Foundation, this Summit, which was attended by 165 individuals from 83 distinct governmental and nonprofit organizations, provided a unique forum for stakeholders from across Texas to engage in facilitated dialogue that was focused on strengthening current disaster recovery efforts and increasing the resilience of Texas communities.


Bridging the Gap for Harvey Recovery

Hosted by the Disaster Leadership Team (DLT), in sponsorship with OneStar Foundation, the Center for Disaster Philanthropy, and the Texas Division of Emergency Management, 'Bridging the Gap for Harvey Recovery' brought together long-term recovery organizations from across the Harvey-affected area to openly discuss disaster recovery issues they face. Members of the DLT presented on topics including volunteer recruitment and retention, grant writing and fundraising, emotional and mental health strategies, and more.


Long Term Recovery Summit Training

Hurricane Harvey Long-Term Recovery Training Summit

December 6 – 8, 2017
Austin, TX

Hosted by OneStar Foundation, in collaboration with Texas Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster, Texas Division of Emergency Management, and Federal Emergency Management Agency Region VI, the ‘Hurricane Harvey Long-Term Recovery Training Summit” brought together long-term recovery leaders from Harvey-impacted communities.  This leadership training built and strengthened the capacity of Texas communities to recover from Hurricane Harvey through active sharing of best-practices from governmental and non-governmental subject matter experts, peer-to-peer exploration of innovative solutions, and cross-sector relationship building.
