​The East Texas Center for Nonprofits announces its summer training opportunities.  The summer months can be a great time to take advantage of some training opportunities!  Below are some upcoming training and events!

Monday, July 17th: Longview Fundraising Plan Intensive from 8:00am to 10:00am

Join us for a time of exploring in depth the topic of fundraising: specifically a fundraising plan. Marilyn Abegg-Glass will be facilitating with a presentation on what a fundraising plan is and why it is important. She will follow-up with an opportunity to ask questions and explore the topic more in depth.

Tuesday, July 18th: Event Planning from 8:00am to 10:00am  (part of "Back to Basics") 

Plan, organize, and host events like a pro – even if it's your very first time. Ever notice how the best events look effortless? Everything just seems to unfold perfectly – and at just the right moment. A well-planned, well-run meeting, retreat, or convention is a thing of beauty. This workshop will provide tips, techniques, and tricks to put on flawless events.  Learn how to be organized and explore a few key strategies that will lead to success.

Tuesday, August 15th: Volunteer Recruitment Intensive from 9:00am to 12:00pm

This 3-hour intensive will cover the basics of the volunteer management cycle focusing much of the time on target recruitment.  We will also touch on completing a volunteer needs analysis, writing volunteer job descriptions, working through recruitment strategies, and the importance of communication and volunteer motivation.

Thursday, Aug 24th, Aug 31st, Sept 7th or Sept 14th: Longview Coffee with Consultants from 3:00pm to 4:30pm

ETCN is bringing this small group coaching session to Longview! These sessions will be led by professional consultants and provide deeper work on key areas of fundraising for nonprofits. Each session will meet weekly for four weeks and is limited to ten participants.  In addition, each participant may have individualized phone consultations with the session leader between sessions if needed. These sessions are valued at $3,000, but as a result of foundation underwriting, participants will pay only $160 ($40 per session).  Participants will be required to attend a 4 sessions.

Mon Aug 28th and Tues Aug 29th: A 2-Day Intensive Grant Research Grant Research from 9:00am to 3:00pm

If you want a reasonable chance of getting your grant application accepted, you won't be able to write one generic application and send off duplicates to foundations. You'll need to do some intense research to tailor your application and focus on foundations that align with your specific mission.  This 2-day intensive will offer a guided hands-on research opportunity with the purpose of helping you identify foundations for your organization to approach.  *Each attendee should bring a laptop.
