The East Texas Center for Nonprofits announces upcoming tranings and webinars:

DO MORE WITH LESS: STRETCH YOUR DOLLAR USING FINANCIAL BEST PRACTICES
Date and Time: Thursday, Oct. 19th 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm  ET

Regulatory burdens are increasing. The amount of overhead allowed on government contracts is shrinking. Donors are obsessing about overhead expenses. Pressure is mounting from all stakeholders to accomplish more with less money. Is doing more with less even possible? It can be with financial best practices designed to help you manage money effectively and efficiently and get the most out of your financial resources. In this 90 min. webinar, Senior Consultant Paul Konigstein will introduce three critical types of financial best practices-internal controls, budget creation and monitoring, and financial reporting–and describe how to tailor them to your organization. There will be opportunities to ask questions about adapting the concepts to your nonprofit's situation.

BUILDING A RESULTS-BASED BOARD
Date and Time: Thursday, Oct. 19th 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm

Learn how to move your board from the reporting and activity mode of operation to a results-based approach that is informed and inspired by purpose. We'll explore the characteristics and practices of a results-based board in relationship to the organization, and the board's own effectiveness. We'll also discuss a case study to look at how a boards culture and practices can be shifted, in partnership with staff leadership. As always, this will be an interactive session. This workshop is most appropriate organizations with established boards, though all organizations are welcome and will find the session beneficial.

FINISH STRONG: MAXIMIZING END OF YEAR FUNDRAISING
