Texas Homeless Network Announcement
20 OCT 2017

The Texas Balance of State Continuum of Care (TX BoS CoC) is accepting nominations for nine CoC Board member seats through October 25, 2017.

The Board is the main policy-making and oversight body of the CoC. The TX BoS CoC is established to carry out duties required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD’s) Continuum of Care (CoC) Program. The CoC is required to establish a Board that acts on behalf of the CoC. The Board must be representative of the relevant organizations within the CoC’s geographic area and of projects serving homeless subpopulations, including at least one person with lived experience (currently or formerly homeless).

The CoC welcomes anyone who works or lives in the TX BoS CoC’s geographic area and has an interest in preventing and ending homelessness to run for election. The Nomination Information document discusses qualifications and responsibilities. It also includes a link to the Nomination Form, where nominations are submitted.

Board Members will be selected by CoC general members using an online voting process. Anyone who lives or works in the 215 counties in the TX BoS CoC is considered to be a general member of the CoC. Voting will be held October 30th through November 10th. A link to vote will be sent via the CoC’s email list. To subscribe to the email list, go to: https://goo.gl/WmAanB.
