Communities In Schools of Central Texas will have 80 AmeriCorps members who will serve as mentors and academic supporters in public schools in four Central Texas counties including: Travis, Hays, Bastrop, and Caldwell. At the end of the program year, the AmeriCorps members will be responsible for 700 students having increased social and emotional outcomes. In addition, the AmeriCorps members will leverage 10 episodic volunteers who will be engaged in service projects with the members during national days of service. This program will focus on the AmeriCorps focus area of education. The AmeriCorps investment of $819,212 will be matched with $829,550; $352,000 in public funding and $329,152 in private funding and $148,398 in administrative costs.
