The Front Steps Keep Austin Housed Program will have 30 AmeriCorps members who will provide intensive case management aide services for the homeless population through the Keep Austin Housed collaborative in Austin, Texas. At the end of the program year, the AmeriCorps members will be responsible for assisting 370 clients with housing placement services, assisting 185 clients with obtaining and maintaining affordable housing, providing 170 individuals with employment placement services, and assisting 85 clients in obtaining employment. These services are a critical component to our city’s COVID-19 relief efforts, as we will be supporting people who lose jobs and housing due to the economic downturn caused by the pandemic. In addition, the AmeriCorps members will leverage an additional 200 community volunteers who will be engaged in addressing client, host agency, and AmeriCorps project needs. This program will focus on AmeriCorps focus area of Economic Opportunity. The AmeriCorps investment of $464,370 will be supplemented with $255,000 in proposed private funding. Partner sites are charged a fee per AmeriCorps member, which will total approximately $255,000 and the value of site supervisor in-kind hours will be approximately $64,800.
