Project Transformation North Texas will have 147 AmeriCorps members who will lead afterschool and summer day camp programs for children and youth at eleven sites in low-income North Texas communities. At the end of the program year, the AmeriCorps members will be responsible for having improved literacy levels of the children that complete the program. In addition, the AmeriCorps members will leverage an additional 1,200 volunteers who will be engaged in one-toone reading and homework assistance with the children. This program will focus on the AmeriCorps focus area of Education. The AmeriCorps investment of $715,596 will be matched with $1,356,436 in private funding.
