Nonprofit Management Alliance of Texas
The vision of the Nonprofit Management Alliance of Texas (NMAT) is to foster the best nonprofit sector in the country by ensuring all nonprofits in the state have access to high quality affordable management and governance strengthening services.
NMAT was formed in response to a multi-year study by the George Bush School at Texas A&M University which revealed the need for more formal networks and alliances to increase coordination and communication across the nonprofit sector. The Bush School study was released in four phases and all report content may be downloaded below:
- Phase One: Mapping Nonprofit Infrastructure Organizations in Texas
- Phase Two: Survey of Texas Nonprofit Organizations Final Report
- Phase Three: TNMAN Transition Needs Assessment and Social Network Analysis Final Report
- Phase Four: Mapping the Nonprofit Infrastructure Final Report
In late 2010, OneStar, with financial support from The Meadows Foundation, formed an advisory group with representation from foundations, university research departments, nonprofit resource centers and other experts from the nonprofit sector to guide the formation of the Alliance.
NMAT membership is open to nonprofits (including divisions within academic institutions) whose primary mission or program focus is to strengthen the ability of nonprofits to achieve their mission. Members of NMAT will receive many great benefits including discounted registration to the Texas Nonprofit Summit and a discount on subscriptions to the Texas Connector, OneStar’s online interactive geo-mapping tool.
Applications for NMAT membership are now being accepted below, or click here to submit an e-mail inquiry. Please review the NMAT Code of Ethics prior to submitting your application.
