Rosa Suazo is a VISTA Leader at OneStar Foundation. She is first-generation American born to Honduran parents. Since she was a young child, her parents instilled in her the values and importance of integrity, service and commitment. She has worked in community-based organizations specializing in foster care families, substance abuse treatment, and reintegration after incarceration. She also completed two terms of AmeriCorps with City Year New York and AmeriCorps VISTA. As corps member with City Year, she served in an underprivileged elementary school in the South Bronx working closely with teachers, students, and caregivers. As a VISTA Volunteer Manager, she serviced underprivileged undocumented individuals in Westchester County, where she also recruited volunteers and pro bono attorneys to assist in cases and events. In 2016, she graduated from Mercy College with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and a concentration in Substance Abuse Counseling.
