The Student Conservation Association (SCA) proposes to have 28 AmeriCorps members who will serve to protect, restore, and enhance public lands and waters as well as natural, cultural, and historical resources. Service will take place in the Gulf Coast region. AmeriCorps members will be responsible for improving 144 acres of parks and public lands. In addition, the AmeriCorps members will leverage an additional 30 volunteers who will be engaged in hands-on conservation activities such as tree care, trail maintenance, and invasive plant removal.
