Panhandle Disaster Relief Fund

Donate now to support the families and communities affected by the Panhandle and South Plains wildfires in February 2024. The Panhandle Disaster Relief Fund is administered locally by Amarillo Area Foundation.

As the most disaster-prone state in the nation, Texas is impacted by fires, floods, severe storms, and other devastating disasters.

For Texas communities to thrive, they must be able to effectively prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters. That’s why we leverage our national service, volunteerism, and sector-strengthening expertise and resources to support the resilience of Texas communities.

OneStar coordinates with state and national partners such as the Texas Division of Emergency Management, Texas Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster, AmeriCorps, and the Office of the Texas Governor to ensure communities in the Lone Star State have the resources required to build resilience for all.

Rebuild Texas Fund

Rebuild Texas Fund provides Texas communities with resources needed to be resilient in the face of disaster. As the state-appointed organization for administering private donations following a disaster, OneStar works with partners to distribute funding to eligible organizations working on the ground in rebuilding and recovery efforts.

Rebuild Texas Fund accepts donations year-round and is grateful to donors who support the fund during “blue sky” times. You can make a donation to the Rebuild Texas Fund here.

Texas Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster

Texas VOAD is a nonprofit, membership-based association that brings together more than 50 voluntary, faith-based, government, and private sector organizations that respond to disaster as a part of their overall mission.

We provide Texas VOAD with the consistency and continuity needed to convene and support its membership—strengthening the ability of these organizations to harness the valuable essential contributions of Texas volunteers during all phases of disaster.

Disaster Service & Volunteerism

Texans give thousands of hours of time and talent to provide critical support to local communities during all phases of disaster. OneStar harnesses this generosity and enthusiasm by promoting thoughtful and strategic volunteer action in collaboration with national, state, and local government and nonprofit partners.

In partnership with AmeriCorps and its Disaster Services Unit, OneStar also coordinates activities of all national service programs engaged in disaster response and recovery in our state.

Convenings, Research & Advocacy

As a neutral convener of nonprofits, state agencies, academia, philanthropy, and the business community, OneStar promotes and supports cross-sector convenings, training, research, and advocacy efforts that strengthen Texas’ disaster resilience.
