2022-2023 AmeriCorps Texas – New Applicant

The fall application deadline for new applicants for the 2022-2023 program year has passed. You can find more information about the spring Notice of Funding Opportunity here.

This Notice is for New Applicants that do not currently have an AmeriCorps Texas grant through OneStar. This Notice is for AmeriCorps Texas (AmeriCorps State) grants. These grants are awarded to organizations that propose to place AmeriCorps members in service solely within Texas. Selected organizations will receive grants to support the development of an AmeriCorps program and AmeriCorps member positions that engage members in service to meet critical needs in Texas.

OneStar anticipates releasing a second Notice for New Applicants later this fall with a due date in spring 2022 and a grant start date fall 2022. Sign up to receive updates on future Notice of Funding Opportunities.

Eligible applicants have the option of submitting for one of three grant opportunities outlined below.

Planning Grant and Operating Grant Combination

To be considered for a Planning Grant and Operating Grant combination, organizations must not currently have a Planning Grant through OneStar. If selected for funding organizations would receive a planning grant March 1, 2022 – August 31, 2022. Organizations that successfully administer their planning grant would then receive an operating grant to support AmeriCorps members in service, with a Budget Period September 1, 2022 – August 31, 2023. 

Spring Operating Grant Start

To be considered for a Spring Operating Grant Start, organizations must have the resources, capacity, and AmeriCorps knowledge to launch an AmeriCorps program without an advance planning grant. This operating grant would have a budget period of March 1, 2022 – February 28, 2023.

Fall Operating Grant Start

To be considered for a Fall Operating Grant Start, organizations must currently have a Planning Grant through OneStar. This operating grant would have a budget period of September 1, 2022 – August 31, 2023. OneStar will be releasing another Notice later this fall with a spring due date for the same budget period, organizations that need additional time to develop their program and submit their application are encouraged to apply under the forthcoming Notice.

Notification of SelectionBy Mid-January 2022

Failure to submit a Notice of Intent to Apply Form will render a New applicant ineligible to submit a full application. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.

Application instructions and materials are made available from documents provided by AmeriCorps. If AmeriCorps makes any updates to their materials OneStar documents will also be updated and reposted with the date that the update was made.

Applicants are required to submit their application and additional documents by the application submission deadline.
