2022-2023 AmeriCorps Texas – Planning Grant

AmeriCorps is a national service program designed to improve lives and foster civic engagement utilizing AmeriCorps Members in full- or part-time terms of service. Members commit their time to address critical community needs like increasing academic achievement, mentoring youth, fighting poverty, sustaining national parks, preparing for disasters, and more.

This Notice is for AmeriCorps Texas Planning Grants. A planning grant provides financial support to organizations that will be developing an AmeriCorps program that will place AmeriCorps members in service solely within Texas. Grant recipients are awarded up to $75,000 for a 12-month planning period to start September 1, 2022 and are expected to be better prepared to compete for an AmeriCorps program grant in the following grant cycle, 2023-2024. A planning grant will not be used to support AmeriCorps members.

Notice of Intent to Apply Form March 3, 2022
All interested applicants are required to submit the Notice of Intent to Apply form online by 10:59 PM Central on Thursday, March 3, 2022.
New Applications Due March 24, 2022
Applications are due in eGrants and additional required documents are due via email to americorps@onestarfoundation.org by 11:59 PM Central on Thursday, March 24, 2022.
Notification of Selection Early June 2022

Failure to submit a Notice of Intent to Apply Form will render a New applicant ineligible to submit a full application. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.

Application instructions and materials are made available from documents provided by AmeriCorps. If AmeriCorps makes any updates to their materials OneStar documents will also be updated and reposted with the date that the update was made.

Applicants must submit applications electronically via eGrants, AmeriCorps’ web-based system. Applicants are required to submit additional documents by the application submission deadline. Additional Documents must be emailed to americorps@onestarfoundation.org.

OneStar will host an informational webinar session covering introductory information related to the AmeriCorps Texas Planning Grant opportunity. Time will be allotted at the end of the session for participant questions. Attendance on the call is encouraged but not required to submit an application. The call will be recorded; the recording and PowerPoint presentation will be available for download after the call.
