Equal Heart will have 248 AmeriCorps members who will provide services across all AmeriCorps focus areas to meet local needs in highly vulnerable communities throughout Texas. At the end of the first program year, the AmeriCorps members will be responsible for improving the lives of 40,000 Texans across a range of outcomes: decreasing hunger, improving children’s socioemotional health, supporting single mothers, reclaiming green space, providing ESL classes, assisting the unhoused, and supporting foster youth. In addition, the AmeriCorps Members will leverage approximately 500 volunteers to deliver these services alongside the AmeriCorps Members. The AmeriCorps investment of $2,757,435 will be matched with $2,071,095 in private funding.
