The Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas (GSNETX) will have 67 AmeriCorps members who will deliver the Girl Scout Leadership Experience educational programming in various locations in the Dallas, TX metro area (locations will include the STEM Center of Excellence and three GSNETX service centers); partner schools/nonprofit organizations in Dallas, Texas; and through a virtual program delivery model. At the end of the program year, the AmeriCorps members will be responsible for providing educational services to 5,000 students. 4,000 students served will show strong academic engagement or social/emotional skills. AmeriCorps members will leverage 100 community episodic volunteers, who will be engaged to deliver programs and complete mentoring assignments to help students develop essential life skills and confidence while achieving stated outcomes. This program will focus on the AmeriCorps focus area of Education: K-12 Success with a special focus on STEM. The AmeriCorps investment of $419,569 will be matched with $256,614 in private/other funding derived annually from cookie sales, retail sales, and program revenue.
