Project Transformation

About the Program

Project Transformation North Texas will have 79 AmeriCorps Members who will lead after-school and summer day camp programs for children and youth at 10 (Chapel Hill Prep, Christ Foundry, Walnut Hill Church, Cockrell Hill UMC, Grand Prairie UMC, Casa El-Emanuel, Owenwood Community Center, Oak Haven UMC, Whaley UMC, First UMC Wichita Falls) in under resourced North Texas communities. AmeriCorps members will be responsible for having improved literacy levels of the children that complete the program. In addition, the AmeriCorps members will leverage 500 volunteers who will be engaged in one-to-one reading and homework assistance with the children.
