Project Transformation North Texas proposes to have 128 AmeriCorps Members who will lead afterschool and summer day camp programs for children and youth at eleven sites in under resourced North Texas communities. At the end of the program year, the AmeriCorps members will be responsible for having improved literacy levels of the children that complete the program. In addition, the AmeriCorps members will leverage an additional 1,000 volunteers who will be engaged in one-to one reading and homework assistance with the children. This program will focus on the CNCS focus area of Education. The CNCS investment of $806,976 will be matched with $1,210,432 in private funding.
