The AmeriCorps Relay Teaching Program Texas (ARTPTX) will have 85 AmeriCorps members who will serve economically disadvantaged students in our teacher preparation and service program in Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio. At the end of the first program year, the AmeriCorps members will be responsible for increasing academic performance for 1192 K-12 students; be poised for certification and Masters of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degrees; and serve as full-time teachers impacting students’ educational and life outcomes in historically underserved communities.
