About the Program

The AmeriCorps Relay Teaching Residency (ARTR) proposes to have 120 AmeriCorps members who will serve economically disadvantaged students in our high-touch teacher preparation and service program in Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio. At the end of the third program year, the AmeriCorps members will be responsible for increasing academic performance for 3264 K-12 students; be poised to earn certification and a Masters degree; and serve as full-time teachers in a career improving educational and life outcomes for students in economically disadvantaged communities. In addition, the AmeriCorps members will leverage 0 volunteers. This program will focus on the CNCS focus area of Education. The CNCS investment of $140,000 will be matched with $936,000, $0 in public funding and $936,000 in private funding.
