SERVE HOUSTON, a program of Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston will have 50 quarter-time AmeriCorps members (13.23 MSY’s) who will serve seniors, children, people with disabilities, veterans, refugees, and other vulnerable groups at 10 nonprofits serving these populations in the Greater Houston region. At the end of the second program year, the AmeriCorps members will be responsible for increasing access to food and healthy living resources among underserved populations. In addition, the AmeriCorps members will leverage 50 volunteers who will be engaged in supporting and implementing selected activities at project sites. The AmeriCorps investment of $380,952 will be matched with $48,097.61 in private funding from Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston’s general fund.
