Travis County 4-H CAPITAL

About the Program

The Travis County CAPITAL AmeriCorps Project will have 35 AmeriCorps members who will lead out-of-school time (afterschool, summer camp, and outreach events) and in-school STEM enrichment experiences in Travis County elementary and middle schools in which the majority of students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. At the end of the third program year in the current grant cycle, the AmeriCorps members will be responsible for serving 450 students enrolled in afterschool programs while improving academic engagement in 200 students. In addition, the AmeriCorps members will leverage 16 volunteers who will be engaged in providing additional STEM enrichment experiences. The AmeriCorps investment of $713,000 will be matched with a total of $690,013 ($645,013 from local funds and $45,000 from program income).
