City Year Dallas will have 75 full-time AmeriCorps members who will provide academic support and mentoring to students in 8 public schools in Dallas, Texas. At the end of the first program year, the AmeriCorps members will be responsible for providing social-emotional mentoring to 700 students and academic mentoring in literacy to 288 students, of which 96 will improve reading skills, and in math to 288 students, of which 101 will improve math skills. In addition, the AmeriCorps members will leverage 170 volunteers, who will be engaged in member development activities and events and physical service projects that benefit our school communities.
