The Boys & Girls Club of Pharr will have 38 AmeriCorps Members who will provide high-quality educational programs and mental health support service, to low-income minority youth in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas. At the end of the second program year, the Proposed AmeriCorps Members will be responsible for improving academic success and social emotional skills in approximately 1,500 youth. The AmeriCorps Investment will be matched with $265,500, $134,000 of public funding, and $131,500 in private funding.
