About the Program

City Year Dallas proposes to have 90 full-time AmeriCorps members who will provide full-day education services to students in ten public schools in Dallas, Texas. At the end of the first program year, as Student Success Coaches, the AmeriCorps members will provide academic and youth development mentoring to 960 students of which 109 students will improve literacy skills, 112 will improve math skills, and 144 will improve attendance. Members will also provide extended day and school climate activities. In addition, the AmeriCorps members will leverage 340 volunteers who will be engaged in our member programs and service projects at our schools. This program will focus on the CNCS focus area of Education. The CNCS investment of $1,944,000 will leverage $1,944,000, $700,000 in public funding and $1,244,000 in private funding.
