College Advising Corps

About the Program

College Advising Corps will have 84 AmeriCorps members who will provide college advising to low-income, first-generation, underrepresented students in 84 underserved high schools across Texas. At the end of the program year, the AmeriCorps members will be responsible for increasing the college enrollment rates among economically disadvantaged youth at the schools served. In addition, the AmeriCorps members will leverage an additional 400 volunteers who will be engaged in supporting college access initiatives in the schools and communities served. This program will focus on the AmeriCorps focus area of Education. The AmeriCorps investment of $1,369,200 will be matched with $4,796,584; $2,700,000 in public funding and $2,096,584 in private funding.
