College Possible proposes to have 62 AmeriCorps members who will provide intensive coaching to economically disadvantaged high school and/or college students in the Austin, Texas area. At the end of the program year, the AmeriCorps members will be responsible for having coached 700 economically disadvantaged students through college exploration, application, and financial aid, with 225 of those students enrolling in postsecondary education, and coaching 1000 students to persist in college, with 55 of those students earning a postsecondary credential. In addition, the AmeriCorps members will leverage 20 student volunteers who will be engaged to become near-peer mentors. This program will focus on the CNCS focus area of Education. The CNCS investment of $582,505 will be matched with $739,352, $76,379 in public funding and $662,973 in private funding.
