Communities in Schools of Central Texas (CISCT) will have 90 AmeriCorps members who will serve as mentors and academic supporters at public schools in four Central Texas counties: Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, and Travis. AmeriCorps members will be responsible for academic readiness or self-awareness, healthy emotions, and responsible decision- making outcomes for 1,100 students. In addition, the AmeriCorps members will leverage 10 episodic volunteers who will be engaged in a service day, community outreach activity, or school-based activities involving small group and/or school-wide participation.
