Communities In Schools of Central Texas proposes to have 90 AmeriCorps members who will serve as mentors and academic supporters in public schools in four Central Texas counties including: Travis, Hays, Bastrop, and Caldwell. At the end of the program year, the AmeriCorps members will be responsible for 650 students having increased social and emotional outcomes. In addition, the AmeriCorps members will leverage 10 episodic volunteers who will be engaged in service projects with the members during national days of service. This program will focus on the CNCS focus area(s) of education. The CNCS investment of $749,246 will be matched with $1,168,807; $468,000 in public funding, $242,776 in federal funding, $284,999 in private funding and $173,033 in administrative costs.
