Communities In Schools of North Texas

About the Program

Communities In Schools of North Texas will have 87 AmeriCorps members who will provide evidence-based Integrated Student Supports to students who are at-risk of dropping out of school in 57 high-need Texas public schools in Bridgeport, Denton, Gainesville, Lake Dallas, Lewisville, and Northwest ISDs. At the end of the first program year, the AmeriCorps members will be responsible for serving 650 students, of which 488 will demonstrate improvement in academic engagement or social and emotional skills through increased attachment to school. In addition, the AmeriCorps members will leverage at least 150 volunteers who will be engaged in social, emotional, and academic support of students at-risk of dropping out of school.
