Communities In Schools of South Central Texas will have 26 half-time AmeriCorps members who will provide academic enhancement support and mentorship at 13 elementary schools located in Seguin ISD, Marion ISD, Schertz Cibolo Universal City ISD, and Luling ISD. At the end of the first program year, the AmeriCorps members will be responsible for serving 312 unduplicated students, with 265 experiencing academic improvement. In addition, the AmeriCorps members will leverage 10 volunteers who will be engaged in service projects at school wide campus events. The AmeriCorps investment will be matched with $118,657, $0 in public funding and $118,657 in private funding.
