The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) proposes to have one hundred and eighty AmeriCorps members who will assist high school students with the college enrollment process into post-secondary education in Brownsville, TX, San Benito, TX, McAllen, TX Edinburg, TX, and Los Fresnos, Tx. At the end of the program year, the AmeriCorps members will be responsible for 2925 students to enroll in a four-year university or a two-year college. In addition, AmeriCorps members will leverage 50 volunteers who will be engaged in assisting students with college enrollment process during annual Super Saturday community event. This program will concentrate on the CNCS focus area of education. The CNCS investment of $941,057 will be match with $941,704, $941,704 in public funding and $0 in private funding.
