Teach For America Texas AmeriCorps members teach for two years in low-income and under resourced schools in the Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, and Houston. Teach For America AmeriCorps members increase the academic achievement of the over 31,000 students in Texas every year.
The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) AmeriCorps members assist high school senior students with the college enrollment process into post-secondary education and operate in 20 sites across Brownsville, San Benito, Los Fresnos, McAllen, and Edinburg. AmeriCorps members support 2,925 students with enrollment in a four-year university or a two-year college.
