New AmerCorps Staff Orientation (NASO) is a multi-day training for staff at OneStar grantee organizations who are new to their position or new to working with your AmeriCorps program. NASO is offered by OneStar three times a year. Attendance is mandatory for any Primary Fiscal and Primary Program staff members at an AmeriCorps Texas program within the first year of being assigned as a Primary contact.
The next New AmeriCorps Staff Orientation will be offered summer 2021. Stay tuned for registration details!
The deadline to register is Friday, March 12, 2021. Once registration closes (or when we reach our maximum capacity), we will confirm your attendance. Additional information about the New AmeriCorps Staff Orientation will be made available to confirmed attendees at that time.
By registering, you commit to attend all days of training in full. Due to limited space, if you are unable to make this commitment, please allow your spot to be taken by someone who can.
In an effort to ensure the highest training quality possible, this orientation is being offered to up to 30 new AmeriCorps program staff members. A waiting list will be generated once the first 30 individuals register. Priority registration will go to Primary Fiscal and Primary Program staff from programs in the AmeriCorps Texas portfolio. If fewer than six people register, then this orientation may be cancelled.
Each current AmeriCorps Texas program may register up to two staff members who play a significant role in your AmeriCorps program. If an organization has more than two new staff members, you may register the additional members, but please note that OneStar will first allow staff from other organizations to attend before subsequent members from your organization are confirmed to attend, space permitting. Attendees will be responsible for sharing information and applying knowledge and updates received during the orientation with relevant staff at your organization.
Due to public health concerns resulting from COVID-19, New AmeriCorps Staff Orientation will be held virtually. Platform information and login instructions will be provided to participants following the close of registration.
We are committed to making our events inclusive of all people, of all abilities. If you require accommodations in order to fully participate in our event, please let us know via your registration so we can make necessary arrangements.
