Donate now to support the families and communities affected by the Panhandle and South Plains wildfires in February 2024. The Panhandle Disaster Relief Fund is administered locally by Amarillo Area Foundation.

2019-2020 AmeriCorps State

This Notice is for AmeriCorps*Texas (AmeriCorps State) grants. These grants are awarded to organizations that propose to place AmeriCorps members in service solely within Texas. Selected organizations will receive grants to support AmeriCorps member positions that engage members in service to meet critical needs in Texas.

Eligible applicants have the option of submitting in the fall of 2018 for Competitive funding consideration or submitting in the spring of 2019 for Formula funding consideration (see Mandatory Supplemental Guidance for definitions).

Competitive Funding Consideration
To be considered for Competitive funding, a Legal Applicant Organization must have successfully administered an AmeriCorps State grant through OneStar Foundation for at least one three-year project period. Additionally, the Legal Applicant Organization must meet all eligibility criteria as outlined in the Eligibility Information section of this Notice. An applicant that is being considered for Competitive funding will also be considered for Formula funding if they are unsuccessful in the National competition for Competitive funding.

Formula Funding Consideration
To be considered for Formula funding, a Legal Applicant Organization must meet all eligibility criteria as outlined in the Eligibility Information section of this Notice.

Continuation Funding Consideration
AmeriCorps State programs administering a 2018-2019 AmeriCorps State program through OneStar Foundation that are in the first or second year of their three year project period are required to submit a Continuation application in order to continue operation for 2019-2020.

Application Materials

Application materials are made available from documents provided by the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS). If CNCS makes any updates to their materials, OneStar documents will also be updated and reposted with the date that the update was made.

Submission of Additional Documents
Applicants are required to submit additional documents by the application submission deadline. Additional Documents must be emailed to grants@onestarfoundation.org. See Submission of Additional Documents section of the Notice.

Informational Sessions

OneStar will host a series of informational webinar sessions covering a variety of introductory information related to managing an AmeriCorps program. A copy of each session’s presentation will be available on this website at the conclusion of the session as well as the audio recording. Time will be allotted at the end of each session for participant questions. You must pre-register to attend the webinar of your choice by clicking on the date/time below. Attendance on the calls is encouraged but not required to submit an application. All calls will be recorded; the recording and PowerPoint presentation will be available for download after the call. 

AmeriCorps National Direct Consultation

OneStar is pleased to welcome National programs looking to place AmeriCorps members in Texas as part of their AmeriCorps National Direct application to CNCS.

To comply with the National Consultation process, OneStar Foundation requests that all National Direct applicants looking to place members in Texas submit the Consultation Form. Following notification of selection, we ask that you follow-up to let us know if your program has been selected for a 2019-2020 AmeriCorps program, how many members will be placed in Texas and the cities where they will be placed. OneStar will include any applicable staff members (local or national as requested) on our Newsletter distribution list and they will be invited to all Commission sponsored events (ex: Swearing in Ceremony, New AmeriCorps Staff Orientation, AmeriCorps Grantee Meeting, etc.).
